2024 Antai Global Summer Program Kicked off! 2024-07-05

On July 1st, 2024, in Shanghai, the Antai Global Summer Program (AGSP) welcomed the 12th class of 44 international students from 18 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Russian Federation, Singapore, Sweden, Turkey, Vietnam, and others. The student diversity in this cohort is unparalleled.  This year, we are offering both undergraduate and graduate tracks in an effort to provide more differentiated education. The 44 students of the 2024 cohort came from 201 applications from 35 countries. Although they come from different backgrounds, they are here for one goal: to understand the Chinese business and culture in a leading business school and in a cosmopolitan city - Shanghai.

Prof. Fangruo CHEN, Dean of Antai College, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Dean Chen talked about the history and recent developments of Antai College and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, highlighting the international rankings and the academic-industry approach our college has been pursuing. He also shared his personal experience to encourage students to take full advantage of their time in China to explore, learn, and make friends.

Prof. Ming Jiang, academic director of the summer program, talked about the curriculum design that has academic lectures, corporate seminars, field visits, and culturally immersive activities integrated into the three-week program. In addition, we offer students full access to the DBIC e-learning platform, where students, in their own free time, can study different subjects and hear business leaders on their perspectives and cases of doing business in China. The faculty members teaching in the summer program are those that have taught in the MBA or EMBA programs. We have invested a lot of resources in the course development of the program.

Director of International Office, Phil Wang, hosted the opening ceremony. Mr. John Van Fleet, adjunct faculty and advisor to the summer program, took charge of the ice-breaking session. Associate Director of International Office Tracy Lin and Program Manager Yaya Tao made an introduction about the class profile, class schedules, etc.

Antai Global Summer Program (AGSP) was launched by Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2013. Taught in English, this 3-week-long, credit-conferring certificate program combines frontier knowledge of Antai Faculty and insights from corporate executives, offering comprehensive views of Chinese business and culture in a globally engaging way. AGSP focuses on empowering young college students and business leaders to understand business and culture in China.
